This isn’t just about showing up in a costume. Come ready to put on a show. Bring the creativity, character, energy, and runway presence that will make you stand out from the competition.
The Kids Runway Costume Contest gives our younger contestants their own opportunity to step into the spotlight and show off their Halloween costumes in front of the Block Party crowd.
The Kids Costume Contest winner will receive a Custom Kids Costume Contest Trophy and a Trick-or-Treat Prize Box filled with prizes.
NO REGISTRATION NEEDED FOR KIDS, JUST SHOW UP IN-PERSON THE DAY OF THE EVENT AT 6:30 PM.
Each registered contestant gets a 60-second runway walk to showcase their costume and presentation.
Choose the song you want playing during your walk, bring your character to life, and give the crowd something to remember. Your registration will ask for your requested runway song along with a description of your costume or character concept.
Once all 100 spots have been claimed, registration will officially close. If you’ve been planning a costume for Halloween 2026, don’t wait until event day to decide you want to compete.
Every contestant will be scored by our judges across three categories for a maximum of 36 points. Your costume matters—but so does how you bring it to life on the runway.
Creativity, detail, originality, craftsmanship, and the overall look of your costume.
Confidence, energy, character portrayal, runway presence, and your ability to command the crowd.
Make your runway moment count. Judges will consider your presentation, movement, entertainment value, use of your selected music, and how well you bring your character or concept to life.
This also makes the weighting intentional: Costume gets you onto the runway. Stage presence and performance are what can separate you from everyone else.
